The Edible Advent Calendars of 2022

Looking for the best edible advent calendars this season? Any of them that are worth getting are included in this list. Endless options including tea and coffee, chocolate and gummies, cookies and popcorn, wine and beer, spirits, and even beef jerky and hot sauce.

My favorite calendar to get every year is the David’s Tea 24 Days of Tea. Linked here is their classic version, but they also have their 24 Days of Caffeine Free Tea Calendar ($55), their Around the World in 24 Teas Calendar ($75), and their 24 Days of Matcha (shown a little farther down this post). All of these teas are loose leaf.

This is another calendar that is available yearly, and a good alternative to some of the more expensive tea calendars. This one also comes in hand stitched tea bags for those that don’t have strainers for loose leaf teas.

This tea calendar is on the more expensive side, but well worth it. The calendar shown here is the Whittard Tea Calendar sold at Whole Foods. It costs $80 and contains 96 tea bags - 4 in every day. They also have one listed on their site for $95 dollars and looks to be the same thing (though different calendar designs so not really sure). The last calendar from Whittard I found was a hot chocolate version for $95 with 48 total sachets (2 per day).

Another World Market find, this tea calendar is sachet based and a much better price than all the ones on this list so far.

This calendar is also a World Market tea calendar, but covers 12 days instead of 24 (though it still has 24 sachets, probably 2 per day).

This tea company out of India features their best selling calendar, the 24 Loose-Leaf Teas of Christmas, but their other calendars include: their Private Reserve Collection (24 days, loose leaf, $53), their Holiday Collection (24 Days, 24 sachets, $18), and their Larger Holiday Collection (24 days, 120 sachets, $45)

This is one of the coolest concept calendars I’ve seen. It pairs teas with philosophers and their quotes. From PhilosophyChristmas on Etsy, there is this calendar of Male Philosophers as well as a specifically Women Philosophers Tea Calendar ($28).

This tea calendar comes with a new concept: brew-in-bag. You pour your water into the bag the tea comes in, close the top let it steep, then pour out through the spout into your cup.

This tea calendar previously mentioned in this post is specifically Matcha. I’ll be trying this one for my first time this year - can’t wait to tell you all how it is. But all the David’s Tea Matchas I’ve tried to date have been very good, so I imagine this calendar would be too.

On the more premium side is this Onyx coffee calendar that comes with 24 packages of 2oz whole beans, enough to brew two 12oz cups of coffee to start your morning off right.

Bean Box is a classic coffee subscriptions that always features 12 curated Holiday coffees that are always sure to be great. Another great thing about this calendar is you can choose either whole beans or ground.

Yawn is one of Etsy’s top pick advent calendars, and for a good reason. This calendar comes with 24 high quality coffee options and tons of options. Two different grades of calendar, a ton of options on how you want to get the coffee, and even an option to get a cup or a french press to finish out your coffee experience.

This calendar is from a small business on Etsy, and not only comes with your morning coffee, but the creamer for it as well!

Alternate offering from the great Etsy Coffee business - a hot chocolate calendar. 12 packs of Belgian hot chocolate and vegan marshmallows makes a pretty great 12 days.

Williams Sonoma offers lots of advent calendar options, especially edible ones. Their hot chocolate one comes with 12 different flavors of hot chocolates to warm you up to Christmas.

This cocoa calendar offered at World Market has two kinds. Shown here is the loose cocoa packets, but you can also get it in the K-Cup Version here for the same price.

This calendar is the first of the chocolate calendars on the list. Godiva is one of the staple chocolate companies, so of course their calendar is always great.

This chocolate calendar is a yearly favorite of the World Market calendars (favorite of mine specifically, though I imagine everyone else likes chocolate as much as me, right?)

Kinder is another classic chocolate brand, and this is most definitely one of the best priced chocolate calendars on the list.

Harry and David offers one of the more premium calendars in this category here at $100, but it comes with 104 different sweets over the 24 days.

This calendar duo is a cheaper option that you can open with a friend!

Neuhaus’ chocolate calendar comes with great chocolate, but also has a great physical calendar. Each day, you pop up a new character that sits in the Christmas scene.

This calendar is the top tier of calendars I’ve found, at almost $200 and a massive container.

This gourmet calendar includes 24 pieces of chocolate, with several flavors like gingerbread and butter pecan.

This calendar not only comes with chocolate, but also with a fun playlist. Each day there is a new song, and you get to see what lyrics in the song inspired the chocolate for that day.

This calendar is from Neiman Marcus and includes a selection of fine milk and dark chocolates as well as truffles.

This calendar comes with chocolate behind doors that are covered with traditional images of Santa Claus.

Another World Market find, this chocolate calendar is fun and more importantly, reasonably priced.

This World Market find includes both milk chocolate and white chocolate, something I haven’t seen in many other calendars.

This Willams Sonoma calendar consists of 24 specifically milk chocolates, for those that are pickier about their sweets. They have this design, as well as a more classic looking stocking design calendar here.

This World Market calendar switches it up and only offers Dark Chocolate behind it’s 24 doors.

If you’re looking for a more conscious advent calendar, this Goodio is a good option - 24 days of two vegan and GF chocolates a day.

This COCO calendar is another more conscious option. It has single origin chocolates from Sweden decorated in small artists’ artwork.

This is definitely my favorite of the Williams Sonoma Calendars - from the dogs on the front to the fact that its all peppermint bark.

This Sugarfina calendar is their classic yearly calendar, that comes with a selection of their sweets they offer year round (this starts the calendars that are not specifically just chocolate).

Now this is the premium version of the Sugarfina calendars, and comes in a pop up carousel.

This calendar is perfect for two - each of the 24 days come with two packs of wine gums with 13 different flavors throughout it.

In addition to traditional calendars, Williams Sonoma also offers character specific calendars, starting with this Disney themed one.

Following the Disney is the great Dolly Parton themed calendar also offered at Williams Sonoma this year.

The PEZ calendar not only comes with candy for your 12 days, but also a new dispenser/ornament for each day as well.

If chocolate and gummy candies aren’t your thing, maybe caramel is. This small business caramel calendar comes from Food 52 but is sourced from a small kitchen called McCrea’s.

If you skip candies completely, maybe marshmallows are more your speed. This calendar would pair perfectly with one of the hot chocolate calendars up above in this list.

This Harry and David calendar is more baked goods themed than candy themed, with cookies, barks, chocolate covered pretzels, and brownies.

This calendar is just like the previous one, but also incorporates various flavored popcorns. Other slots include chocolate covered pretzels, mallow cakes, wafer snacks, and truffles.

Williams Sonoma’s version of the popcorn calendar is a bit different than you would expect: it gives you all the means for a ‘popcorn party’ over your 24 days. This includes 7 types of kernels and 12 types of seasonings.

For those missing some more classic baked goods, this calendar is made up of specifically Italian Cookies, including things like biscottis and limonchellos.

This calendar stays specifically in the baked good category of shortbread, and switches it up with different types and flavors.

This cookie calendar is from Etsy (ie supporting a small business), and my favorite part is that the cookies are different designs every day, but you can choose your flavors you prefer, in case you have any picky eaters.

Another Etsy option, this cookie maker uses the same container as the last listing but different cookie designs. This listing comes in both a 12 day option ($45) and a 24 day option ($70).

Loving how many small makers have cookie calendars this year! Here’s another great Etsy option.

This Etsy cookie countdown is out of Canada so it has a bit higher shipping price of around $20, but its much cheaper than most of the other small business cookie packs so it sort of evens out.

I grew up on Cheryl’s cookies, so this is definitely one of my favorite calendars of the list. While it’s only 12 days, every cookie you get will be absolutely incredible.

If you want more of a variety in your cookie calendar, this option is for you, with this like jam cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and more classic sugar cookies.

This calendar includes everything great from Harry and Davids, like their truffles, cookies, popcorn, and even meats and spreads.

This calendar is definitely different than the typical one, but is a great starting point for some fun baking throughout your holidays.

Another calendar that encourages making your own food with them - this calendar comes with various spices and seasonings for things like vegetable dishes, fish, and even desserts.

This calendar is another yearly classic. The Bonna Maman includes 24 minis of their various jam offerings. I would almost get this calendar JUST for the adorable little containers.

If you’re looking to heat up your holidays, then go for something like this hot sauce calendar from World Market.

Here’s where we start to get into the weird and wacky food calendars. This one gives you 12 days of different brands and flavors of beef jerky.

If you’re a noodle fan like me, count down to your Christmas with this noodle based advent calendar.

This variety calendar includes different things from all the previous calendars. You get Bonne Maman minis, black licorice, chocolates, ornaments, and even a Votive candle.

Moving onto the type of calendar that has gotten much more popular in the recent years - the alcohol calendars. Get a calendar of spirits, beer, and snacks with this calendar.

This calendar sticks to the bubbly, with 12 days and 4 different flavors of Barefoot.

This curated wine company has sold old their 12 nights calendar for the past 6 years so this is definitely one to jump on quickly. They also have a 24 nights option for $200.

This wine calendar offers a little better value with a similar price to the 12 day calendars, but offering 24 days of minis from places like Spain, Sicily, and California.

Give Them Beer offers a large variety of calendars. They have this various wine version, a Red Wine Calendar ($170), and a Sparkling Wine Calendar (120).

Of course a site called ‘Give Them Beer’ has to have a beer advent calendar as well. In the cans category, they have this one containing various beers, an IPA-specific Calendar ($80), a Hard Seltzer Calendar ($60), and a Canned Cocktail Calendar ($80).

The final feature from Give Them Beer now comes in the form of liquor. They start with this various liquors version, but also have a Whiskey Only Calendar ($140), a Rum Only Calendar ($60), a Vodka Only Calendar ($90), and a Tequila Only Calendar ($99).

This calendar comes from the well known well known pinata company. It offers the mini shot bottles of various liquors like vodka, whiskey, and even cream liqueur.

This calendar is considered to be the premium of the alcohol calendars. It comes with 24 different Whiskey samples (ALL types of whiskey, including Bourbon, Rye, Scotch, Irish, Japanese, and Australian), as well as a leather coaster, a tasting glass, and tasting journal.

I didn’t want to leave non-Christmas people out, so while there are not near as many, there are a few Hanukkah specific calendars as well. This first one comes with 9 gourmet chocolates.

Sugarfina is one of the classics in advent calendars, so I can only imagine their Hanukkah one is just as great!

As I said before, Cheryl’s is my FAVORITE so I can confirm that this box will have all the goodness you could ever want.

I always include a few non-food calendars for special mention on my list. This one has both a Christmas and a Hanukkah option. It comes with 9 scratch offs that reveal a song for that night.

I always have to include some special mention, non-food calendars. And the most important of them are the animal ones of course. Too Good for Gourmet offers both a dog AND a cat calendar.

This record is actually a scratch off song calendar. Each day reveal a QR code to take you to a selected song to jam to all evening.

This Cabinet of Curiosities calendar is by far the coolest one I came across this year. It comes with 25 individually wrapped items that are related to quirky holiday customs around the world.

For my fellow embroiderers, this calendar gives you one small Christmas themed stitch a day to end up with the cutest keepsake from your December.

This calendar comes with 12 small brainteaser puzzles to keep you occupied until present opening time.
